The survey results were presented at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities

On 12th of April, 2012 the USEmobility survey results were introduced for more than 60 high-level representatives of the German rail industry, transportation companies, civil society organizations and political decision makers at the meeting of the supporting members and members of the Allianz pro Schiene (Pro-Rail Alliance).

Decision makers all see the necessity for improving public transport in Croatia

This fact is one of the findings of the USEmobility survey and a series of interviews that were conducted with decision makers last year in six European countries. People were asked about mobility and changes to the means of transport used for their journeys. In Croatia this survey was unique as it was the first one that aimed to find out the citizens’ reasons as to why they changed their mobility behavior towards more eco-friendly means of transport like trains, buses and bicycles.

After extensive preparation and pretesting, the fieldwork for the USEmobility survey started in June. In six European countries, a representative sample of the population is being asked about mobility and changes to the means of transport used for the journey.

Presentations of USEmobility in Croatia

Besides the surveys, maybe the most important step of USEmobility project is addressing the target groups. Dissemination of the project is done by all partners in several European countries. Thus, the Croatian partner Pro-Rail Alliance, Croatia, has so far presented the project on several occasions.

Trends in European mobility

A closer look at Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Hungary and the Netherlands and their development shows that the trend of intensive car use, which has been observable throughout Europe for years and decades, is no longer as pronounced as it used to be, at least in some countries.
